CAM’s Strategic Onboarding of 25 Partners and Their Vision for the Future

As 2024 draws to a close, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM), India’s leading law firm, has made a significant impact on the legal industry by onboarding more than 25 partners, along with their respective teams, from rival firms.

This bold move aligns with CAM’s aggressive expansion strategy, as outlined by Managing Partner Cyril Shroff, who recently shared his ambitious vision of increasing the firm’s lawyer count to over 2,000 within the next five years. In his statement, Shroff emphasized CAM’s commitment to remaining independent, decisively ruling out any potential collaborations with foreign law firms.

As part of its strategic expansion, CAM has successfully retained Mr. Manmeet Singh, Senior Partner and member of the management committee at Saraf and Partners (Saraf). Singh is set to join CAM along with three other partners from Saraf, a move that has sent shockwaves through the legal industry. Mr. Singh was considered a pillar at Saraf, and his departure marks a significant shift in the firm’s leadership.

Before joining Saraf and Partners, Singh was a Partner at Luthra & Luthra, where he served until 2021 before moving to Saraf. A distinguished alumnus of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and Columbia University School of Law, Singh brings over 17 years of experience to CAM. He has represented key stakeholders in high-value commercial matters, including financial institutions, private equity investors, and major Indian conglomerates, further strengthening CAM’s capabilities in the market.
